While in Medical school at the University of New England, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Maine, Dr. Thomas received the honor of being an osteopathic fellow.  During this additional year, she taught gross anatomy and osteopathy to new medical students while expanding her knowledge of treating patients with osteopathy. She then attended the Greater Lawrence Family Medicine residency where she opened the first clinic for osteopathic manipulation.  After graduating, she worked partly as a hospitalist at Lawrence General Hospital, an urgent care physician at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, while starting her own practice in her own name in Lawrence and then Arlington Massachusetts, also called Bridging Worlds Medicine.  She also trained at Harvard Medical School learning acupuncture in the Kiiko Matsumoto style of Japanese Acupuncture.  She has a background in Ayurveda and Yoga and incorporates this into her treatment of her patients.  She mostly uses her hands on approach with osteopathic manipulation in practice.
